Bath Time

In Hawaii we had the worlds tiniest shower-I would literally hit my elbows on the sides washing my hair if I moved around too much. It was ok before we had kids, but when Mallina came along I was so sad that we didn't have a tub to bathe her in. We had a small baby tub that we would put inside of our shower. Here is Eva modeling the tub in the shower:
In our apartment here we have a full sized tub and I can't tell you how excited it has made me! It was definitely a requirement while looking for a place. The other day I gave the girls their first bubble bath-they had a blast! And I got some great shots of them:

And just a shot of Eva in her elephant towel :)

BobSponge

Ok, So I am testing out how to post a video. Mallina really likes SpongeBob Squarepants, but to her, he is BobSponge. I LOVE how she says it! So, I actually totally annoy myself in this video because I keep trying to make her say it over and over again, but it is so cute! Enjoy :)

I felt like Grandma "Pete" today!

When I was younger my mom's mom would braid our hair. She was an expert at it, she would pull them so tight that our eyes would be pulled back and they would last ALL DAY! Sometimes even through the next day! Here are some examples of Grandma Pete's braids:
Me and my sister Aly (sorry, these are pictures of pictures)
And one of just me :)
So I decided to see if I could do it to Mallina's hair. She has not had a fountain of hair like her little sister, she was a baldy FOREVER! The other day I did two small braids, and it came out like this:And from the front, just because this is a cute picture :)

So today I thought I would try one big one in the back, and I did it! I was so excited! Here it is, in all its glory:
Yeah, I know it's crooked, but hey, you try braiding the hair of a two year old. And she was pretty happy with it too:

How do you know your two year old is mad at you?

There she is, the Paci Queen, quietly enjoying her paci.
And then I took it away from her.

We've got a WALKER!

Little Miss Eva has finally decided to really start walking! She has taken a few steps here and there-the first real ones were a few weeks ago when we were still staying with my niece Nichole. She looked so proud of herself! On Sunday she really started being brave and took quite a few steps! Yesterday she made it all the way from the kitchen table to the couch! I am so proud of her! I need to get a good picture of her doing it. But I am just so proud of my little walker! Yay!

I am a noob!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! In reference to my previous post, I've realized that I obviously need to learn how to set up my posts and to edit the size of my pictures. (FYI...noob=noobie=new at something online. yes, I know I am an online nerd)
So, this is what we did at our house today...Mallina actually smiled nicely for a picture:
Eva got stuck in the hippo:

And we had some lunch:
I'm not too sure Eva was liking the yogurt...
How's that for some excitement?

Today is Friday

Ieli takes the car to work everyday, leaving us stranded at home. I'm so glad it's Friday! We get to venture out into the world tomorrow! Actually yesterday my niece came and took us to the park-YAY! She has twin girls Malleri and Merissa who are 7 and a 4 year old, Ella. Mallina and Ella are the best of friends :) Here are some shots from the park.

Making new friends:

Poor Ella, her mean mommy wouldn't push her on the swing, so she got creative:
The Lone Ranger:

Mallina misses REAL sand:

And Miss Eva, this is her new favorite face:

Daddy calls this her naughty smile:

Here are my two little monkey's in the cutest jammies ever! It is SO HARD getting a picture of the two of them together.

Ok, here I am!

So, after several strong hints from people that I love, and who love my children, I have decided to start a blog. I never really wanted to do it because I have never gotten into reading anyone's blog before. Then my niece started one that was full of pictures and I thought, hey! I could do that! I might be able to handle only being witty in short spurts instead of in long, drawn out posts reliving my boring life each and every day. So I plan to make this more of a record of the funny, cute, and amazing things my girls are doing and making pictures available for all of you who are chomping at the bit to see my two beauties. I hope I can somewhat entertain you and keep you up to date on how we are doing. And just in case you are wondering about the title...we live in the desert...but we come from the islands...i.e. desert crabs. Just in case you aren't as brilliant as Ieli and I are.
