Happy Halloween!!

Well, the bad news is that Mallina's teeth problem has escalated...her teeth are now green and black. What am I going to do?

Hahaha...Aunt Jenny arrived today with fake teeth for the girls, and herself. I'll have to get a picture of all three of them together sometime. This shot reminds me of a picture of her from last year at Halloween. I might have to make this a tradition.

Here's a story for you...Mallina is in preschool at the public school, they send home announcements each Wednesday in their backpacks. Last week we got a note saying this Friday there would be a Halloween parade and the kids could wear their costumes. Mallina stayed home Wednesday and Thursday because she was sick, but I got her ready to go back today in her costume. I spent over an hour last night braiding her hair so it would be wavy for today. Turns out that the preschool wasn't involved in the parade! My mom took Eva up there with her, and Vama met them up there as well, and they waited and waited, and no Mallina. In the mean time Mallina has been quarantined in her classroom because she doesn't feel well, and they are calling all 5 phone numbers on her contact sheet. I was so sad for her! But I don't think she really cared. Vama took some pictures of the girls before they headed out the door. I should have more pictures tomorrow for trick or treating, but Vama got some good shots I thought I would share.

The point

I love Laie Point. It is such a beautiful place. It is where Ieli and I had our official first date :) For those of you unfortunate enough to have never seen it, this is what you are missing:

Now that we live in happy valley, sandwiched between mountain ranges, we have been able to do a little exploring to see what nature has to offer here. Ieli discovered a place that you could also call the point, which overlooks the valley. What a beautiful view. You can see both the Provo Temple and the Mt. Timpanogos temple AND you can even see water there! shocking. I have no idea what this place is called (I'm sure my mom and dad would know, but I'm too lazy to go into the other room to ask :) but we had a nice Sunday afternoon drive and got some fun pictures. So, here is the new "point" in our lives (it by no means REPLACES Laie Point, but adds a different perspective)

This picture absolutely cracks me up. Mallina looks like she is about to biff it, but she didn't! And I also have to add, she did NOT wear those shoes to church...she put them on as we left for our drive and I didn't give the ok! (although you should have seen what I was wearing...but that's a different story)

And I have to say I am not loving the quality of the pictures at this resolution...click on the pictures to see them larger and more clearly.

Me and my llama(s)...

...goin' to the dentist today.

I FINALLY got my kids to the dentist, and boy did they need it. It's a lot of work taking care of three mouths all on my own.

Mallina had to get a crown on one of her molars - I felt like such a bad mom. But she was so amazing...the dentist kept saying how remarkable she was...four year olds don't let dentists do work on them, they usually have to go to the hospital and have anesthesia. I was so proud of her :) But how grateful I am that it's a molar and not a front tooth, oh the horror! This picture cracks me up. She says her tooth has armor.

Eva, on the other hand, did end up going to the hospital. Ever since her right front tooth came in I knew there was something funky going on there...it came in two pieces, so weird, but apparently a pretty normal occurrence. You can see her funky tooth in this picture pretty good (click on it to enlarge it). I learned something cool...when you are a baby, those top 4 teeth start off as one, then they split two times to make four teeth, Eva's tooth just tried to split one more time.

I took care of it the best I could, and the Dr. tried to save it, but she had to have it pulled :( Now I've got a little hillbilly toothless wonder. The anticipation of her going under general anesthesia drove me nuts, I kept having thoughts of losing her, it was just horrible. I was go grateful when they brought her back to me and she was fine. I, however, was not so fine. I got nauseous when they pulled out her IV and I had to lie down on the floor, heaven help me if either of my kids end up with any major injuries.

Getting ready for surgery in her giant pj's that had clowns (yikes!) and elephants on them.

In the wagon, about to be wheeled off for surgery. She didn't cry! yay!

Recovering in Daddy's arms. She was SAD.

The hillbilly toothless wonder :)

Oh, and in case you didn't get it, here's a little old school Sesame Street for you:

School Picture Day

Today was school picture day for Mallina. She has THE cheesiest smile ever which shows off her dimples quite nicely, but you can't see her eyes. Just like her momma. So we've been practicing her smile, hoping to get a nice one instead of her cheese-a-licious one when she brings home the package we paid for. This is what we were hoping to avoid:

This is kind of what we were practicing...

...hopefully it will end up somewhere in between. Eva was practicing too...

I have a vision of all of her future school pictures...looking kind of in pain, that is if the photographer doesn't scare her and make her cry.

And my two little munchkins together :)

Oh, and I have to add that yes, my girls do have more clothes than just this one dress. We just really like this dress and are getting our money's worth out of it :) This will be remembered as Mallina's official preschool dress.
