Workin' hard?...

...or hardly working? It makes me laugh every time Shrek says that in the 2nd movie. Vama has been helping clean up/clean out/ remove mold/ paint one of the bedrooms in my parents' basement. The room was my dad's while growing up and it had the cutest wall paper on it:

It had to come off, but I wanted to get a picture of it because it is so cute! Vama painted the walls white and Mallina got to help him. She was SO excited :) Eva was helping me with dinner, but she jumped into the picture with them.

Now we are ready to have visitors for Thanksgiving! Woohoo! I will be sure to take an obnoxious amount of pictures for the big shindig so I can embarrass everyone and put their pictures on my blog. bwahaha!

Happiness

It can be bought, don't you think? Even if it just lasts for a little while :) Today has been a fun one filled with random happiness. Grandma Judy never fails to provide fun little surprises she finds while out and about. I know why she does it too, the reaction she gets from the girls when she gives them something is priceless. It is well known that Eva is a DIVA. She loves all things girly, sparkly, shiny, frou-frou, whatever. Mallina is definitely on middle ground. She will wear a tutu every once in a while and she can flip her long hair around like the best of them while wearing her Sunday dresses. But I definitely think she had more fun painting the basement room with daddy in her grubby clothes (pictures of that to come). But she definitely put on a show tonight showing off a new sweater and a hat my mom bought for one of my nieces. Her "America's Next Top Model" poses can be seen below. Eva was entranced by a sparkly dress mom found for her, and instantly paired them with some wings, and a play shot gun that goes with the Wii. :) I didn't get a good picture of her because of that thing.

Adding on to the princess theme...Mallina went to a birthday party last Saturday where she got to make the cutest princess that had a picture of her as the head (the mom is so sweet and made one for Eva too) I just think it is the cutest idea I've seen in a long time! (and I hope you appreciate the state of my bed. I won't lie, it generally looks like that.)

And for the last bit of happiness from today...also brought to us by Grandma Judy. Glinda!! Isn't she awesome?! (and no, she's not mine, but I've put my claim in saying I was here for the unveiling)
Happiness, I hope there is more of you tomorrow!

Catch up...

I somehow forgot to post pictures from our pumpkin picking. My parents' wonderful friends Cheryl and Milt (who really are considered family :) grew some pumpkins and Indian corn in their garden and invited us to take the girls out there to take our pick. This is the first time we have ever done something like this, we always have picked our pumpkins out at the store (oh the horror!) but we had so much fun! Here are some great shots I got while we were out there.

Happy Halloween!!

Well, the bad news is that Mallina's teeth problem has escalated...her teeth are now green and black. What am I going to do?

Hahaha...Aunt Jenny arrived today with fake teeth for the girls, and herself. I'll have to get a picture of all three of them together sometime. This shot reminds me of a picture of her from last year at Halloween. I might have to make this a tradition.

Here's a story for you...Mallina is in preschool at the public school, they send home announcements each Wednesday in their backpacks. Last week we got a note saying this Friday there would be a Halloween parade and the kids could wear their costumes. Mallina stayed home Wednesday and Thursday because she was sick, but I got her ready to go back today in her costume. I spent over an hour last night braiding her hair so it would be wavy for today. Turns out that the preschool wasn't involved in the parade! My mom took Eva up there with her, and Vama met them up there as well, and they waited and waited, and no Mallina. In the mean time Mallina has been quarantined in her classroom because she doesn't feel well, and they are calling all 5 phone numbers on her contact sheet. I was so sad for her! But I don't think she really cared. Vama took some pictures of the girls before they headed out the door. I should have more pictures tomorrow for trick or treating, but Vama got some good shots I thought I would share.

The point

I love Laie Point. It is such a beautiful place. It is where Ieli and I had our official first date :) For those of you unfortunate enough to have never seen it, this is what you are missing:

Now that we live in happy valley, sandwiched between mountain ranges, we have been able to do a little exploring to see what nature has to offer here. Ieli discovered a place that you could also call the point, which overlooks the valley. What a beautiful view. You can see both the Provo Temple and the Mt. Timpanogos temple AND you can even see water there! shocking. I have no idea what this place is called (I'm sure my mom and dad would know, but I'm too lazy to go into the other room to ask :) but we had a nice Sunday afternoon drive and got some fun pictures. So, here is the new "point" in our lives (it by no means REPLACES Laie Point, but adds a different perspective)

This picture absolutely cracks me up. Mallina looks like she is about to biff it, but she didn't! And I also have to add, she did NOT wear those shoes to church...she put them on as we left for our drive and I didn't give the ok! (although you should have seen what I was wearing...but that's a different story)

And I have to say I am not loving the quality of the pictures at this resolution...click on the pictures to see them larger and more clearly.
